My client has received the following error:
The SSP Search settings page (/ssp/admin/_layouts/searchsspsettings.aspx) keeps showing the following error:

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it xx.xx.xx.xx:54314

54314is the SSL port being used. We never configured it to use SSL, so I am not sure what triggered it to be used. Also, I checked the properties for the SSP and the “SSL for Web Services” is set to No.

Here's what I discovered:

If you build your servers with .Net 3.5 SP1 before installing MOSS you will see this problem, however, If you install .Net 3.0, then MOSS, then upgrade to .Net 3.5 SP1, all is well.
